"We are pleased to welcome back Jeff May to the SMS family as he returns to Hawai'i as our newest Vice President," said Tim Carson, President, and CEO of SMS Research & Marketing Services. "Jeff brings a wealth of experience in design and evaluation implementation for public and private industries and specializes in the design, collection, and analysis of survey research data."
Jeff's past projects include grant evaluations for public and private schools, community organizations, Native Hawaiian governmental organizations, and technical assistance on local tobacco prevention and control efforts. Jeff has conducted political polling for local, state, and federal races. Since leaving SMS in 2016, Jeff worked for the Alaska Tobacco Prevention and Control Program evaluating Quitline activities and analyzing and interpreting adult and youth behavioral risk factor survey data, among other projects.
Before joining SMS Hawai'i for the first time in 2009, Jeff worked as an Instructor of Political Science at the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa and as a Legislative Aide for a State Representative at the Hawai'i State Legislature. Jeff holds a bachelor's degree in Political Science and History from Texas A&M University and a Master's in Political Science from the University of Houston.
