HONOLULU (September 20, 2022) SMS Research & Marketing, Inc. today announced the appointment of John B. Tidwell as Vice President. Tidwell brings over 20 years of experience in market research in the financial services, telecommunications, and manufacturing industries.
Tidwell will leverage his expertise in product development, brand health, program and policy evaluations, and strategy development to lead SMS Research's regional sales and expansion of channels.
With his strong background in helping customers utilize marketing research and social science to identify growth opportunities, Tidwell will serve as a key figure in SMS Research's goal to support its clients across a broad range of sectors.
Tidwell was previously Vice President at Blakeslee International Insights for more than 5 years, where he was responsible for delivering actionable research for international corporations. This included conducting primary market research, designing business process changes, and sourcing and organizing in-country subcontractors for project implementation. He also served as Head of Research & Market Development at the American Chemical Society and held leadership research positions at Enigma Marketing Research and Newell Brands.

Tidwell holds a Ph.D. in Measurement and Evaluation from the University of Delaware. He has been an adjunct instructor teaching statistics at local universities and holds a 3rd Degree Black Belt in American Karate/Kickboxing.
