Exploring Market Research Careers: SMS Hawai'i Hosts Pearl City High School IBAD Students

Exploring Career Paths in Market Research: A Valuable Experience for Hawai'i High School Students

In a concerted effort to bolster workforce development and pave the way for a robust talent pipeline in Hawai'i, SMS Hawai'i recently opened its doors to a group of eager students from Pearl City High School's Academy of International and Business Design (IBAD) program. The visit was a part of their educational journey aimed at exploring career paths at various offices in downtown Honolulu as part of the Hawai'i Chamber of Commerce's Hawai'i Sector Partnerships programs, which seek to bridge businesses and schools in providing work-based learning experiences to Hawai'i high school students.

It's no secret that many high school students need more exposure to different career options, making it challenging to make informed decisions about their future. That's where programs like IBAD come in.

During their visit, IBAD students explored various facets of market research, from qualitative and quantitative methodologies to product research. They gained insight into how data collected in the field can influence everything from corporate decisions to state policies and laws. Our students had a firsthand look at SMS Research's operations, including our call center, and engaged with our market research and consulting teams, asking questions along the way.

This educational experience was part of their college and career planning journey. It's no secret that many high school students need more exposure to different career options, making it challenging to make informed decisions about their future. That's where programs like IBAD come in.
